Most of you know me by my pen name "Heikin Ashi Trader." That's the name I came up with for myself because that's exactly what I do: I trade with the Heikin Ashi chart.

I too was once just getting started...
I too was once in exactly the same situation as you. I had a job that I didn't particularly like. I was a music teacher at a small, municipal music school in Germany. I made a living, but that was all.
And then one day I discovered the stock market!
That was in 2001!
I was obsessed with the possibility of making money by trading.
I started right away and began trading futures on the Eurex on my free mornings.
Day trading!
In the afternoon I continued to teach my students at the music school.
Here in the picture from that time you can see me during a small concert. I'm the guy with the flute on the right.
Making music is great, but I never got rich from those chamber music concerts...
And I didn't have any success with day trading either...
It was not an easy time in my life.
Every time I thought I would soon reach the famous "breakeven threshold" (when you at least stop making losses), I lost it all again due to some stupid mistakes.
It was maddening!
And then I discovered the Heikin Ashi chart.
I discovered that I could scalp very well with these Japanese candles.
That changed everything!
After seven tedious years of trial and error,
I suddenly started having success. It was the time of the financial crisis. Volatility in the markets was high, and my scalping method was exactly suited to trade this kind of market.
I took my life in my own hands.
It was also the time when I definitely hung up my teaching job. I moved to Berlin and started living a free and independent life.
During the day I was a trader.
At night I was a tango dancer (my second great passion!).
On this picture you can see me as a tango dancer at a tango meeting in Cyprus.
And then I left Germany at the beginning of 2016 and went on a world trip. Three years!
With a backpack and a laptop…
I wanted to enjoy life to the fullest and my scalping business financed it.
In the end, it was my unwavering drive to be free and independent that led me to scalping.
During the day, I scalp.
In the evenings and at night, I go dancing.
For years, I have been living exactly the life I want to live.
Here you can see a picture of my workplace in my penthouse apartment in Cyprus.
By the way, the picture is from mid-January 2021. At noon on this island you can dine outside...
And here I sometimes go for a swim and keep an eye out for the wonderful sea turtles on the east coast of Cyprus.
